MS63 | Victoria 1887 gold Two Pounds

Victoria (1837-1901), gold Two Pounds, 1887, Jubilee type crowned bust left, J.E.B. on truncation for engraver Joseph Edgar Boehm, Latin legend surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:, rev. St. George and dragon right, taller date, larger B.P to upper right of exergue, 15.95g (DISH C207; Schneider 654; Hill T26; S.3865). An appealing example with strong residual lustre, some nicks and bagmarks in fields, graded by NGC as MS63.

NGC Certification 6614521-005

Calendar year mintage 91,345.

The Latin legend translates as “Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith.”
