PR62 MATTE | Edward VII (1901-1910), gold matt proof Sovereign, 1902, coronation year, bare head left, B.M. on truncation for Bertram Mackennal, EDWARDVS VII D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP:, rev. St. George and dragon right, WWP under lance, date in exergue B.P. to upper right of exergue for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled, 7.98g (Marsh 174A; S.3969). Small mark to right of obverse portrait eye, otherwise pleasing, graded by PCGS as PR62 MATTE.PCGS Certification 81838202.

Calendar Year Mintage 15,000.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as “Edward the Seventh by the Grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India”.
