AU58 | Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1899, Old Head left, raised J.E.B. initials close on truncation for engraver J. Edgar Boehm, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D:G: BRITT: REG: F:D:, rev. St. George and dragon right, broken lance to left on ground line, date in exergue, initials B.P to upper right for engraver Benedetto Pistrucci (Marsh 150; S.3874). Appealing example with light surface marks and strong mint lustre, graded by NGC as AU58.

NGC Certification 6321055-009.

Calendar Year Mintage 7,515,978.

The obverse Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith".
