Description

George I (1714-27), gold Half Guinea, 1718, laureate head right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS. D.G. M.B.R. FR. ET. HIB. REX. F.D., rev. crowned cruciform shields, incorporating the Arms of Hanover, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, BRVN ET. L. DVX S.R.I.A.TH ET. EL., edge diagonally grained, 4.19g (MCE 266; S.3635). Struck from a rarer obverse die, some light scratches, much original lustre, graded by NGC as AU Details.
