Description

George V (1910-36), 8-piece silver Proof Set, 1911, Coronation year, Halfcrown, Florin, Shilling, Sixpence and Maundy Set, all housed in original Royal Mint deluxe red case with gold block lettering (S.PS13). Practically as struck, a superlative set with highly appealing matching patina.

These silver proof sets were produced to celebrate the Coronation of King George V on 22nd June 1911, with a mintage of 2,243 sets which is over 500 less than the full "long" gold proof set.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George the Fifth by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
