Description

Heraclius, 610-641. 12 Nummi (bronze, 5.28 g, 16 mm), Persian occupation of Egypt (?), Alexandria, circa 618-628. Facing beardless bust of Heraclius with crown set on crescent and surmounted by simple cross, wearing cuirass; in field to left, star; in field to right, crescent. Rev. Large IB, with cross potent on globe between; in exergue, AΛЄΞ. DOC 191; SB 855. Fine.
