Imperial Order of the Saint Equal to the Apostles Prince Vladimir . 3rd-grade cross, 52.9 x 47.8 mm, official fabrication by Afanasii Vassiliewich Panov in Sankt Petersburg between 1802 and 1821, gold and enamels, 17.4 g, enamel painting, this slightly rubbed on the reverse, on the loop master’s mark "A.P" and another unidentifiable mark, without ribbon. RRR G.V.F. Имперa торский орден Святого Равноапостольного Князя Владимира . Крест 3 степени, 52.9 x 47.8 мм, капитульный, изготовлен Афанасием Васильевичем Пановым в СПбурге между 1802 и 1821 г, золото и эмаль, 17,4 г, роспись по эмали, на оборотной стороне слегка потёрта, на ушке клеймо изготовителя «A.P» и другое неразборчивое клеймо, без ленты. Чрезвычайно редкий Состояние лучше чем очень хорошее According to Levin (Sergei S. Levin: Purveyors to the Chapter of the Russian Orders of Knighthood 1797–1917. In: PHS p. 177–199) Afanasii Vassiliewich Panov worked in Sankt Petersburg from 1802 until 1820 as an official supplier of orders' insignia to the Russian "Chapter of the Imperial and Royal Orders". Only very little is known about him. For some time he was also the head of the guild of goldsmiths of Sankt Petersburg. His successor in supplying to the Chapter from 1820 on was Immanuel Georg von Pannasch (1773–1836) who learnt with Panov.
