Macedonian helmet right / A beneath wreath.

very fine

Cf. Psoma-Terzopoulou-Karadima 2008, pl. LXII 256b-258b; HGC 3.2, -.

This coin comes from the hellinistic years, when Maroneia took the name as Agathokleia for a short period in the name of Agathokles, son of Lysimachos. The combination of Macedonian pilos and wreath is unknown for the area of Abdera and of Aigiaki Thrace. Perhaps this combination is a mark of a military success. (Psoma-Karadima-Terzopoulou 2008 / Karadima-Psoma 2005, 2009).
