Description

Cilicia, Tarsos AR Stater. Circa 410-385 BC. Persian satrap on horseback to right, wearing kyrbasia / Hoplite kneeling to left, wearing Corinthian helmet, holding spear in right hand and round shield adorned with aegis on left arm; Aramaic script 'TRW' (= Tarsos) behind. SNG BnF 226; SNG Levante 61. 10.55g, 21mm, 2h.

Good Very Fine; areas of flat strike. Rare.
