Kingdom of Axum, Wazena (Ella Gabaz) Æ Unit. Circa AD 550-570. Draped bust to right, wearing headcloth, holding wheat stalk; Ge'ez legend "may this please the peoples" around / Cross crosslet crossed by oblique cross; Ge'ez legend "of Wazena, of the King" around. Hahn & Keck 76; SACAM 388-410; H 70; AC 118-123; Vaccaro 63. 1.36g, 16mm, 12h.
