★ An Excessively Rare Octavian Denarius ★

Octavian AR Denarius. Southern or central Italian mint, summer 37 BC. IMP CAESAR DIVI F in two lines within laurel wreath / [C]OS•ITER•ET•TER•DESI[G], tripod with cauldron. Crawford 537/2; CRI 311; RSC 111. 3.19g, 21mm, 6h.

Near Very Fine; area of flat strike to both sides, scattered marks, banker's mark on cauldron, lightly toned. Excessively Rare; only one other example offered at auction in the past 20 years.
