Description

Thrace, Mesembria AR Tetradrachm. In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Circa 223-175 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left, holding sceptre; ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ to left, BΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to right, Corinthian helmet to right in inner left field, EP monogram in exergue. Karayotov 94 (O22/R52) = Price 981 (same dies). 16.70g, 29mm, 12h.
