Rev/ AVGVSTI F COS DESIG PRINC IVVENT / C L CAESARES Gaius & Lucius standing front, each togate and with a hand resting on a round shield, a spear, and in field above, a simpulum right & lituus left, This type commemorates Gaius and Lucius Caesars, the grandsons of Augustus by Marcus Agrippa, as heirs to the imperial throne. They became Princeps juventutis very early and received as a gift a silver shield and a spear by Equestrian Order (equester ordo). RIC. 206 RARE Good Very Fine
