Description

SELEUKID KINGS, Seleukos I. 312-281 BC. Silver Tetradrachm (16.60 gm; 28 mm). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. Struck circa 304/303 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle and sceptre; monogram in left field, monogram under throne. Cf. Newell, ESM 12; Cf. Houghton 945. Well struck on a nice full flan. Nicely centered. Choice Good VF. Lightly toned.
