ISLAMIC. Seljuks. Rum. Ghiyath al-Din Kay Khusraw II bin Kay Qubadh (AH 634-644 / 1237-1246 AD). Dirham. (641 Sivas). Obv: Sun between back to back two lions,above encirclink it : الإمام المستنصر بالله أمير المؤمنون. Al Imam al-mustansir billah emirul mu'minin. Rev: As-sultan'ul azam - Khusraw bin Kay Qubadh. Around : Duribe haza al dirham/ Sivas fi / seneh ahad and er/bain and sitte mie. Apparantly Unpublished. This coin was minted in Sivas in H 641 in order to announce the loyalty of the Anatolian Seljuk sultan to the abbasi caliph el mustansir billah. The type with two lions was only published between 640-641 and has only 5 records in private collections and museums. Condition: Very fine. Weight: 2.46 g. Diameter: 21 mm.
