Description

EASTERN EUROPE. Imitations of Alexander III 'the Great' of Macedon (3rd-2nd centuries BC). Drachm.

Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin.
Rev: AΛΕΞΑNΔ.
Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and sceptre. Control: Monogram in left field.

Cf. Lanz 888-94 (similar imitations of Alexander III); cf. OTA 575-5 (same).

Condition: Very fine.

Weight: 3.97 g.
Diameter: 18 mm.
