SYRIA. Seleucis and Pieria. Emesa. Macrinus (217-218). Tetradrachm.

Obv: AVT K M OΠ CЄ MAKPI / NOC CЄB (read from lower right, partially retrograde and inverted).
Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left.
Rev: ΔHMAPX ЄΞ VΠATOC Π Π.
Eagle standing facing, head left, with wings spread and wreath in beak; O below beak; between legs, radiate and draped bust of Shamash left.

Prieur 1006 (same dies as illustration).

Extremely rare, with Prieur citing just one specimen.

Condition: Near extremely fine, mark on the reverse.

Weight: 12.34 g.
Diameter: 26 mm.
