Description

SELEUKID KINGDOM. Seleukos I Nikator (312-281 BC). Drachm. Laodikeia.

Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin.
Rev: ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ.
Zeus seated left on throne, holding sceptre and eagle. Controls: To left, dolphin left above monogram; monogram below throne.

SC 37.2 var. (monogram below throne; though cf. 36.3 for a tetradrachm with a similar monogram below throne); HGC 9, 29b.

Extremely rare

Condition: Very fine.

Weight: 4.22 g.
Diameter: 18 mm.
