Description

EASTERN EUROPE. Imitations of Alexander III 'the Great' of Macedon (3rd-2nd centuries BC). Tetradrachm.

Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin.
Rev: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / AΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ.
Zeus seated left with eagle and sceptre. Controls: KOI in left field, monogram below throne.

Lanz 885-7; OTA 573; cf. Price 1062 (for prototype).

Condition: Good very fine.

Weight: 16.50 g.
Diameter: 29 mm.
