Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev: VICTORIA CARPICA.
Victory advancing right, holding wreath and palm.

Rare. Coin celebrating Philip's victory over the Dacian tribe of Carpi, that resided in the eastern parts of modern Romania and repeatedly attacked Roman provinces on the Danubian frontier. After their defeat against Philip in AD 247, they faced Romans again under Aurelian, Diocletian and finally Constantine the Great
