★ Extremely Rare Issue of Antoninus Pius from Anchialus ★

THRACE. Anchialus. Antoninus Pius (138-161). Ae. Krassipes, magistrate.

Obv: ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙС ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟС ΑΝΤΩΝЄΙΝΟС СЄΒ.
Bareheaded, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev: ΟΥΛ ΑΓΧΙΑΛЄΩΝ ΗΓ ΚΡΑССΙΠЄΔΟС.
Zeus seated left on throne, holding patera and sceptre.

Cf. RPC IV online 1533.2 (Zeus standing) = Lanz 114, lot 397 (which realized a hammer of €570; cf. Varbanov 63 (same; valued at €1,000); apparently unpublished.

Extremely rare

Condition: Near very fine, some corrosion.

Weight: 25.76 g.
Diameter: 33 mm.
