Description

EASTERN EUROPE. Imitations of Alexander III 'the Great' of Macedon (3rd century BC). Drachm. 'Pseudo-Chios' mint.

Obv: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin.
Rev: VEΞVNΔP.
Zeus seated left with eagle and sceptre. Controls: monogram above bunch of grapes in left field.

Cf. Price 2317ff. (for prototype); cf. HGC 6, 1134 (Chios).

Condition: Good very fine.

Weight: 4.06 g.
Diameter: 18 mm.
