THRACO-MACEDONIAN REGION. Uncertain. Ae (Circa 4th-3rd centuries BC).

Obv: Bearded male head right.
Rev: Fish right; labrys and uncertain pattern (netting?) above.

Cf. Numismatik Naumann 44, lot 68 (which realized a hammer of €1,000).

The example from Naumann 44 features the legend 'MEN' below the fish on the reverse, which isn't visible on this specimen; additionally, the odd pattern around the upper half of the reverse on this example is not present (or at least, not visible) on the aforementioned specimen. In any event, these two are undoubtedly related. Extremely rare
