Byzantine Pb Seal (5.47g, 20mm) Basil anthypatos, (eleventh century)
Obv: Bust of St Basil holding the book and offering a blessing. Traces of an inscription: ὁ ἅ(γιος) Βασίλ]ει[ος].
Rev: Inscription in four lines: Κ(ύρι)ε βοήθη Βασιλ(είῳ) ἀνθυπάτος
Similar in obverse to the seal of Basil Apocapes. (?)
Basileos (Vasil) Apokapes (Βασίλειος Ἀποκάπης) was an 11th-century Byzantine general.
