A Rare Greek Bronze Figure of a Comic Actor
Circa 4th-3rd century BC.
Comic Actor in the Role of a Kitchen Slave, with the arms raised to carry platters. He wears a typical grotesque mask and a short cloak revealing an exaggerated phallus. The cloak is padded to indicate a large belly. One hand and both feet broken.
H 86 mm Ex private European collection; acquired in Germany before 2000.
