CARIA. Uncertain (Mylasa or an imitation?). Circa 500-450 BC. Stater (Silver, 18 mm, 10.97 g). Forepart of lion, or possibly a lion-like monster, with very narrow open jaws to right. Rev. Irregular incuse square divided by a band. Cf. SNG Ashmolean 322–3 and SNG Kayhan 930, but actually unlike either of them. Clear and with a ferocious lion, albeit a very curious one. Minor marks and bangs, otherwise, good very fine.
