Description

LUCANIA. Thurium. Circa 350-300 BC. Distater (Silver, 25 mm, 15.31 g, 10 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with Skylla hurling a stone to right. Rev. ΘΟΥΡΙΩΝ Bull butting to right, his head lowered; in exergue, [lion's head between H - ΡΑ]. HN III 1859. Noe N. 10. Clear and well-centered. Weakly struck in parts, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From a European collection purchased in the 1960s. Sold with an official Italian export license.
