Forster 818. Julius 1329. Montenuovo 1530. PiN 485. Extremely rare. Beautifully preserved, sharp and very nicely toned. Virtually as struck. The obverse of this medal provides a view of the fortified city of Constantinople, viewed from Pera on the opposite side of the Golden Horn. It is particularly detailed and is probably derived from contemporary engravings with the city view.
