Netherlands, The Dutch Republic. Alkmaar . Token (Silver, 33mm, 12.36 g 12), friendships-token of the city of Alkmaar, in memory of the siege of 1573, by Reinier Arondeaux, c. after 1692. ALCMARIA / VICTRIX Soldier in classical dress striding right, between and altar, to left, and a trophy of arms from which hangs the Order of the Golden Fleece. Rev. Elaborate, altar-like srtructure bearing a besieged tower on its side, and arms and wreath above; to left, Mercury standing right; to right, Victory standing left; below, two resting lions; to left and right, S C.
