ET JUNCTI CURRUM DOMINÆ SUBIERE LEONES / PAX - HISPANO - BATAVA (= the united lions pull the chariot of their mistress; Peace between Spain and Batavia ) Pax, radiate, holding the staff of Mercury and a horn of plenty, driving chariot, drawn by the lions of Spain and the Dutch Republic, to the right, over scattered arms; in exergue, NUNC PAX AMBOROM / SUPER ARMA ABJECTA / TRIUMPHAT / blúm a brem (= Peace now marches in triumph over discarded arms ). Rev. Before a view of Amsterdam, on a banner supported by three putti - the one on the right holding a palm branch and the one on the left an olive branch - , inscription in eight lines: Pacis Felicitas / ad Utrumq Solem, / Utrumq Oceanum, / Terra mariq Parta, / Perpetuæ Tranquil - / litatis Publicæ / Spe et Voto / Anno M.D.C.xlviii. (= Happy Peace, from East to West, Ocean to Ocean, and on land and sea, with the hope and desire for a tranquility both universal and durable ); in exergue, Amstelodami . Deth./Ord. 25. Jungk 20.
