Description

MYSIA. Parion. Circa 4th century BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 13 mm, 2.17 g, 2 h). ΠA / PI Cow standing to left, head turned back to right; in exergue, uncertain symbol. Rev. Gorgoneion facing, with protruding tongue. Cf. BMC 14-39 (different symbols). Cf. SNG BN 1356-1391 (different symbols). Cf. SNG Copenhagen 257-266 (different symbols). Extremely rare. An apparently unpublished variety. Attractive iridescent toning. Granular surfaces, otherwise, good very fine.
