Description
★ Extremely rare and unpublished variety ★
ARGOLIS. Argos. Circa 320s-270 BC. Obol (Silver, 12 mm, 0.72 g, 6 h). Head of wolf to right; above, ΣΙ. Rev. Large A with round shield below cross bar; the whole within shallow round incuse. Apparently an unpublished variety! Cf. BCD Peloponnesos, 1075.5 (same symbol but different denomination) & 1081-1082 (without the reverse symbol and A placed on incuse square). Usual porosity, otherwise, very fine.
