Description

Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 18.5 mm, 2.86 g, 7 h), Travel series, Rome, 130-133. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P Laureate head of Hadrian to right. Rev. AEGYPTOS The personification of Egypt reclining left, holding a sistrum in her right hand and resting her left arm on basket; at her feet, ibis standing right. BMC 801. Cohen 100. RIC II.3 1481. Toned. Some porosity; minor edge split, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From the Collection of Prof. James M. Collier, acquired from Baldwin's in London in 2006.
