Description

GREEK COINS Illyria Dyrrhachion, c. 450-350 BC. Stater (Silver, 21mm, 10.35g 3). Cow standing to right, turning her head back to left to lick calf suckling to left; above, ΜΕ. Rev. Δ Υ Ρ Double stellate square within a square linear border; to right, vertical club; all within a linear circle. BMC 22-23. Haeberlin Collection 1937, 9 ( this coin ). A very attrac­tive, nice­ly toned example. Some minor scratches, other wise , very fine. From the collection of E. J. Haeberlin.
