Description

GREEK COINS Zeugitania Carthage, c. 310-270 BC. Stater (Elec­trum, 19mm, 7.53g 12). Head of Tanit to left, wearing grain wreath, triple pendant earring and necklace of ob­long pendants; in field to left, pellet. Rev. Horse standing right; below exergual line, three pellets. Haeberlin Collec­tion 1937, 53 = pl. VI, 10 ( this coin ). Jenkins & Lewis Group V, 280. SNG Copenhagen 137 ( same dies). A lovely example of very good style and very well struck. A few uncleaned deposits as found, otherwise, good very fine. From the collection of E. J. Haeberlin.
