Description

GREEK COINS Sicily Entella , Punic issues, c. 345/38-320/15 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22mm, 17.22g 3). Head of Tanit-Persephone to right, wearing wreath of grain leaves, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; to right, thymiaterion. Rev. Horse prancing right before palm tree; to right, Nike flying left, above kerykeion, to crown the horse; below horse, two Punic letters. Jenkins, Punic 96. SNG Lockett 1041. An attractive piece, nicely toned and of good style. Nearly extremely fine. From an American collection, ex Classical Numismatic Group 75, 23 May 2007, 59.
