LOWER DANUBE REGION. Imitation of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 16.60 g, 8 h). Stylized head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. Imitative legend Stylized Herakles standing facing, head to left, resting his right hand on grounded club and carrying lion skin over his left arm; in inner left field, Λ above +; in right field, small figure standing facing above T. OTA Class III. An extremely rare variety. Attractively toned. A few small scratches on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
