Laureate head of Apollo facing, turned slightly to the right; at neck, edge of his cloak held together by circular brooch. Rev. With a dramatically intense head of Apollo with staring eyes and wildly tasseled hair Beautifully centered and well-struck. Extremely fine.

The two coins of Pixodaros presented here could not be more different in character, one head is truly and severely Apollonian, while the present has a head with masses of wildly waving hair, as if riding in the chariot of Helios!
