EPEIROS. Ambrakia. Circa 404-360 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 7.80 g, 3 h). Pegasos flying left with straight wings; on his hindquarter, A. Rev. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet, the bowl ornamented with an olive wreath and an A; to right, nude winged male figure - Eros ? - flying left, adjusting the wreath on Athena's helmet. Cf. Calciati 78 ( same reverse die, but citing Ravel 120 in error ). Ravel -, cf. A54/P82 (unlisted die combination). Rare. Nicely toned with an attractive reverse. Some delamination on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
