ϘΡΟ ( retrograde ) Tripod with legs ending in lion's paws, two spirals beneath the bowl and three rings at three of the four quarters of the bowl; in the field to left, stork standing to right; border of dots. Rev. Tripod with legs ending in lion's paws, two spirals beneath the bowl and three rings at three of the four quarters of the bowl; all incuse ; rayed border. HN III 2102. SNG ANS 259 ( same dies? ). Sharply struck and attractively toned. An unusually nice example of this often badly struck and worn issue. Extremely fine.
