PHOENICIA. Byblos. 'Ozba'al (Uzzbaal), circa 400-376. 1/16 Shekel (Silver, 11 mm, 0.80 g, 3 h). Galley to left, with lion's head on the prow and two hoplites on board; below, hippocamp to left; above back, 'Z (in Phoenician). Rev. 'ZB'L MLK GBL, (= 'Ozba'al, king of Gebal ) Lion attacking a bull collapsing to left. E&E-B Series IV.2.2. HGC 10, 134 ( but there slightly misdescribed ). Very well-centered and nicely struck. Nearly extremely fine.
