LUCANIA. Thourioi. Circa 443-400 BC. Triobol (Silver, 11.5 mm, 1.16 g, 10 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with an olive wreath. Rev. ΘΟΥΡΙ Bull standing to left, with his head lowered; below, Γ; in exergue, grey mullet swimming to right. HGC 1, 1265 ( description over simplified ). HN III 1759. Of splendid style, perfectly centered and with lightly iridescent toning. Surfaces a touch grainy, otherwise, extremely fine.
