The Dutch Republic. Plaquettepenning, or Hollow medal (Silver, 67mm, 40.55 g 12), on the Treaty of Nijmegen that ended the Dutch War between France and the Dutch Republic, b J. Dishoecke, 1678. LIBERTAS PACIS SOBOLES PRVDENTIÆ ALVMINA (= Liberty, daughter of Peace, nourished by Prudence ) Hollandia seated facing, holding lance topped with cap of liberty, between Pax and Prudentia; at her feet, looking somewhat cross, Lion of the Netherlands; to left, cornucopiae with jewels and coins; to right, shield bearing the arms of Amserdam.
