Polyrhenion. Circa 320-270 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 17mm, 2.70 g 2). ΠΥΘΟΔΩΡΟΥ Head of Artemis Diktynna (?) to left, wearing triple pendant earring, pearl necklace and with her hair bound up and tied into a sakkos ornamented with stars at the back. Rev. [ΠΟΛ] Bull’s head facing, with fillets hanging from its horns. Le Rider pl. XXVIII, 37. Svoronos p. 278, 15 and pl. XXVI, 4. An attractive piece, clear and well-struck. Overstruck on a contemporary hemidrachm from Argos. Good very fine. From the Brünn Collection, acquired in Italy prior to World War I.
