Description

THRACE. Maroneia. Circa 386/5-348/7 BC. Stater (Silver, 23.5 mm, 10.91 g, 10 h), Choregos. Bridled horse springing to left, with trailing rein. Rev. EΠI XOPHΓO Grape vine with four bunches of grapes, all within linear square; around, inscription with a fly at the upper left; all within a shallow incuse square. Schönert-Geiss 451 (V20/R31). SNG Copenhagen 606. Lightly toned, well-centered and attractive. Some minor traces of horn silver, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
