Description

SICILY. Syracuse. Roman rule, after 212 BC. (Bronze, 15 mm, 2.93 g, 12 h). Janiform head of a bearded Dionysos, wearing ivy-wreath. Rev. ΣYPAKO-ΣIΩN Filleted thyrsos. Calciati 222. Virzi 1886. Dark green patina. Well centered and with unusually fine details; rare thus. About extremely fine.
