Description
Michael VIII Palaeologus, 1261-1282. Trachy (Bronze, 22 mm, 1.79 g, 5 h), Constantinople. The Theotokos, orans, standing facing slightly left. Rev. Michael, holding cross-tipped scepter in right hand, and St. George, standing facing, holding labarum between them. DOC 64-5. PCPC 25. SB 2264. Dark green patina. Very fine.
