Diocletian, 284-305. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.61 g, 12 h), Cyzicus, 284-286. IMP C C VAL DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Diocletian to right. Rev. MARTI VLTORI Mars advancing right, wielding spear held in right hand, and holding shield in left. Calicó 4548. Cohen 319 var. ( not cuirassed ). Depeyrot 2/4 var. ( not cuirassed ). RIC 300D. Punch to the flan above the head on obverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
