LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 281-278 BC. Nomos (Silver, 19 mm, 6.51 g, 6 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing a plain crested Corinthian helmet; above, ΑΛΕ; behind, EY; below, Z. Rev. |-HPAKΛEIΩN Herakles standing left, holding club in right hand, and bow in left; draped over left arm, lion's skin. HN III 1400. Van Keuren 103. Lightly toned and well centered. Very fine.
