ACHAIA, Achaian League. Argos. Circa 191-146 BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 19 mm, 4.79 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Phaenos. Zeus, nude, standing left, holding Nike in right hand and scepter in left. Rev. AXAIΩN ΑΡΓΕIΩN / ΦΑΗ/ΝΟΣ Achaia seated left, holding wreath in right hand and scepter in left. BCD Peloponnesos 1132-3. HGC 5, 718. Warren, Bronze 84-125. Dark patina. About very fine.
